Encounters and events on the journeys undertaken for the book SAND IN MY EYES, Sudanese Moments: The film takes you into the mood and landscapes of the subject, exploring immaterial world heritage in one of the hardest-to-access regions of the world. It documents people and their particular unique ways of expressing themselves that define a place.

You listen to local guides who joined for parts of the journey, meet nomads narrating what drives them on, and share the stories of mountain dwellers, town residents and subsistence farmers from traditional cultures introducing what they have to offer to the modern world. Filmed by Alyaa Sirelkahtim and edited with Katharina von Schröder (2014, 30min). The film can be viewed during the travelling exhibition.
